Garrett Walker is an American painter living in Hailey, Idaho. His work is inspired by many travels through the colorful and dramatic landscape of the American West and Southwest. Artistic influences include Henri Matisse, Richard Diebenkorn, and Willem De Kooning. His early artistic interest was stimulated by visits to the art studio of his maternal grandfather, noted San Francisco artist, Henry Bothin Maas. Over the years he has taken art classes at the San Francisco Art Academy, Walnut Creek Civic Arts, Eagle Idaho Art Center, as well as workshops in Utah and New Mexico. He was a member of the Reno Tahoe Plein Air Painters and is a current member of Plein air Painters of Idaho.

With undergrad and graduate training in physics and molecular biology, Garrett was part of the Boeing/NASA Space Shuttle program, and then went onto work in cancer research and biotechnology. Currently he devotes himself to painting full-time.
